Efficient transfer of heat and
moisturet
The heat exchanger body of the ROTO-FLUE is constructed from thin
lamellas made of Polypropylene, which make up rectangular channels only
a few millimetres wide. This gives a very large heat transfer surface
per volume unit, typically 20,000-30,000 m2 for a rotor with a diameter
of 4 m. As a result of this, and the fact that flue gases and air pass
through the rotor in opposite directions, an efficient enthalpy transfer
with little volume is ensured.
The channels for air and flue gases are designed so that the flow
through the rotor is done within the laminar flow range, whereby the
pressure drop over ROTO-FLUE stays low.
Tight construction without risk of flue
gas leakage
The air and flue gas passages are separated by a special sealing
strip, which at prevailing pressure conditions in the ROTO-FLUE,
efficiently prevents flue gases to enter into the combustion air. The
casing seal is designed as a water lock, which practically eliminates
the risk of leakage |
